Background and Alternate Names

Human endothelin receptor type A (EDNRA), is a 7-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR). EDNRA is a Class A GPCR that binds guanine nucleotides. EDNRA modulates vasoconstriction and cell proliferation and has been associated with many diseases such as massive atherosclerotic stroke, intracranial aneurysm, migraine, and various tumors. Recently EDNRA has been the focus of possible anti-tumor therapies. Human EDNRA protein has >95% sequence homology with mouse EDNRA.
